What it costs to run
320W of board power, 4 hours a day under load, priced at the residential electricity rate where you live. Pick a state and the numbers update.
Board power is the rated maximum; real gaming load usually sits below it and idle is a few watts, so treat this as the ceiling. Rates: EIA residential average, May 2026. See every card ranked by running cost →
Why you buy it
- 16GB is enough for 4K and 13B class models
- Mature drivers, no launch bugs
- Used prices undercut the RTX 5080 clearly
Why you hesitate
- No DLSS 4 multi frame generation
- 320W wants a good power supply
- Used market only; condition varies
The editor's take
The 4080 Super was the sane high-end card of the 40 series, and used units now sit well under the RTX 5080 while giving up less than the generation gap suggests. 16GB handles current games at 4K and mid-sized local models. The catch is the usual used-market one: check the seller, check the warranty transfer, and walk away from mining-era listings.
