GeForce RTX 5070

A good 1440p card that would be a great one with four more gigabytes.

Local AI fit: 13B-14B class models. Rule of thumb for 4-bit quantized models; context length and other apps eat into the same memory.

Why you buy it

  • Efficient 250W board power
  • DLSS multi-frame generation
  • Strong 1440p numbers

Why you hesitate

  • 12GB VRAM at $549
  • AMD offers 16GB at the same or lower price

The editor's take

Solid 1440p performance, sane power draw, full feature stack. The 12GB buffer is the asterisk: it is enough today, but both AMD alternatives at this price carry 16GB, and games keep eating memory. Buy it if DLSS matters to you; buy the 9070 if longevity per dollar matters more.

Who it's for: 1440p gamers on a mid budget who value DLSS and efficiency over raw VRAM, and who upgrade every couple of generations anyway.
